Update! ♡ : News & What's Been Happening

Hi lovelies! I just wanted to give you a quick update on what's been happening, and where I've been if most of you have been wondering what's going on with me and this blog.

Don't worry, I haven't left or have been ignoring this blog, because I absolutely love this and everyone of you that has been supporting me. I've been super on track with school. Most of you don't know my education or business background, I'm studying to get my Bachelors in Fashion Design and Merchandising in Orange County, California. With this being my 3rd year of college, it's been very nerve-wreaking. I've wrangled enough products to review overtime for the past few months, but now midterms have came around the corner. Having multiple garments to be sketched on Illustrator can be very time consuming.

However, I do have somewhat exciting news to share with you guys. Mostly just a brainstorm of thoughts. For the past few years, I have been wanting to film on YouTube and do product reviews on there just to feel more reached out to you guys, and feel a little more personal that I can open up in a different way to you about cosmetics and the beauty industry. But me feeling in some way that I have to be put up on a pedestal to a film related social media website can be very overwhelming. I do have the best support system on here with all you guys and I do have a question to ask to each and everyone of you.

If I do decide to make videos on YouTube, film and talk about all things beauty related and do a ton of product reviews, would you watch it? I will still be blogging on here time to time, since blogging can actually be a lot of fun. What do you guys think?

I want to actually reach out to you a little better, to feel much more personal to all of you. I would love to hear all your thoughts!

Thank you so much for reading!
Love you, xx

Review Time! ♡ : Urban Decay Cosmetics "Pulp Fiction" Eye Shadow Palette

Hi lovelies! So today I'm actually going to introduce you to my very first eye shadow palette review, and I wanted it to be quite special, but still something that's fairly popular to the public and still brand new. Urban Decay Cosmetics had announced in the beginning of July 2014, they were releasing a collection like never before. And with that, a collection that will pay respect to one of the best man kind movies in history. The Pulp Fiction Collection was premiered online on Urban Decay's website on July 16, 2014, just a little after 9:30 AM PST, and the collection comes with 5 pieces.

This collection is very cool, fun and exciting, but it's also very edgy . It's definitely something to consider looking into if you are a big fan of Pulp Fiction, or even Mrs. Mia Wallace herself. I highly recommend this collection if your looking into creating a look that's seductive, simple yet classic, and very effortless. I'm going to be reviewing the eye shadow palette to the collection, which has 5 shades, and it's one of the pieces from the collection that is limited edition.

For first impressions, this palette is very sleek and professional feeling once you first set your hands on it. On the front of the palette, it has a clean smooth black glossy surface, with a big UD in the center for Urban Decay with the Pulp Fiction in a bright pop-up logo in the bottom left hand side. The back of the package has a description of why Urban Decay is in love with the movie Pulp Fiction, and just why they chose Mrs. Mia Wallace as their inspiration to create these eye shadow shades. The front of the palette itself has the same layout as the box, but instead with a famous quote from Jules Winnfield from the movie. The back of the palette just has the simple quote "be cool hunny bunny" in the top center. Inside the palette, it has a camouflage background with the 5 eye shadows shades displayed in the center, a red dual ended eye shadow brush and a 2.5 x 2.5 IN mirror in the top center.

The eye shadow palette itself is very much of similar resemblance to the the Urban Decay Naked and Naked 2 palettes for the very natural shades that are featured. Mrs. Mia Wallace has a very natural yet edgy look, especially with her famous blood-red lipstick wearing in the diner scene. The shades are wonderful to recreate her look for that classy, but effortless look she was rocking in the movie.

Righteous is described as a "light cream matte." It's very light and subtle to the eye. The pigmentation when swiped is above average for a brow bone shade, and the finish of the shade is matte with just a slight bit of a powder-off finished look. The shade lasted for about 6 1/2 - 7 hours of wear, with a natural skin toned primer. Overall, it's quite nice, but just not recommended to use for a very dramatic eye shadow look. This shade is just perfect if you want just a little natural subtle look to the eye without needing to go too overboard.

Tyranny is described as a "warm brown matte" and I can say that the description is point on. The only thing I found to be different was the shade seemed to be with more of a yellow-orange based mixture in it's undertone and it comes off to look quite neutral, not necessarily warm. The pigmentation comes off just wonderful, and this shade is just perfect for that crisp cut crease you want for a natural or even dramatic look to the eye. The lasting power it's quite wonderful too, I got around 7 1/2 - 8 hours of wear with a good primer underneath, and this by far is one of my favorite shades from the palette.

Vengeance is described as a "deep taupe-brown matte-satin" and I can say that the description is point head on, with a tiny bit of a shimmery frost in it. The pigmentation when swiped by far is the best out of the palette, first swiped it feels so smooth and creamy to the touch. This is a perfect shade to get a deep smokey outer-v in the look. The lasting power is very wonderful, I got almost 7 1/12 - 8 hours of wear, and that's with a little primer, and this shade is the longest lasting with the others. Vengeance I think is the best shade out of the palette.

Anger is described as a "black satin with slight tonal sparkle". It's more of a matte charcoal/black, with just a slight hint of shimmer, but the sparkle payoff is a little low. The payoff is quite poor, and not the best black I've ever graced upon in my life, but still salvageable if you're looking for a very subtle smokey eye. The lasting power is around 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 hours of wear with a primer. Overall, I was a little disappointed with this color, because looking at it from the palette, you just have that gut instinct that you know you've graced upon God when you find an AMAZING pigmented black. Unfortunately, the feels have been crushed.

Furious is described as a "white satin" which I think is an accurate description, but with just a slight hint of a frost/shimmer finish to it's payoff. This is probably the best brow bone shade I have ever seen in my life, just because of it's pigmentation and it's extremely bright. The lasting power was more than above average, I got around 6 1/2 - 7 hours of wear, with a good primer, and something about this shade just seems different unlike any other brow bone or inner corner color you would see, and that I would recommend this shade to all women with different colored skin tones.

Tutorial Time! ♡ : Summer Glamorous Gold Eyes Tutorial w/ Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked 2 Palette

Hi lovelies! So today I'm going to introduce to you my very first eye shadow tutorial, and I want it to be a very simple, yet easy and natural look that will be perfect for Summer time, whether it's going out for work in the day, you have a fun romantic date later on, or a night out with your girlfriends. This look is sultry and glamorous, and it's a very safe look if most of you aren't too familiar with makeup. It's also very build able, so if you wanted to intensify the look, you can control it by how more you apply the product. Without further adieu, let's get started!

To begin this look;
Take Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion in the shade "Original".
Apply just a tiny bit directly from the tube.
Then blend fully outwards on your finger all around the lid.

Dab just a little bit under the lash line.

Let it dry for about 60 seconds.
Take an E.L.F. Studio Small Angled Brush.
From the Naked 2 Palette, take the shades "Foxy" and "Bootycall"
And lightly dab back and forth between both shades and take it to the inner corner of the eyelid, and to the brow bone.

Take a Bare Minerals Tapered Shadow Brush.
Go over into the palette to the shade "Suspect".
Apply that shade to the inner half of the lid.

Take that same brush and go over to the shade "Pistol" in the palette.
Dab that onto the outer half of the lid.

Next, going over to layer the eye lid to warm it up, take the same brush over the shades "Half Baked" and "Chopper".
Lightly dab back and forth between both shades to get a mixture.
And just dab that directly onto the center of the eye lid to warm up the colors.

Take that same brush.
Take the shade "Busted".
And right on the tip end of the brush, apply it under the lower lash line half way with it.

Use that same brush, and go back over to the shade "Half Baked".
Apply that color to the starting corner of the lash line to lightly intensify the look and blend it in with the shade "Busted".

Take a Bare Minerals Crease Eye Shadow Brush.
Take the shade "Busted" again.
And stamp it in the crease first, then lightly blend back and forth.

Take both the shades "Blackout" and "Busted" from the palette, light dab between both colors back and forth.
Tap off the extra, then trace the outer port of the eyelid, more towards near the end of your lash line.
Take that same blending brush, and just lightly blend over all the colors to have the colors gradually blend with each other.
Take that same blending brush and go back over to that shade "Half Baked".
Tap it off as much as you can, and just lightly trace over the upper crease, just to soften the look with out it looking too blacked out or bruised. This is what gives the look it's sultry feel it was needing.

Take an E.L.F. Liquid Liner in the shade "Black".
And line your upper lash line, creating a short but soft wing.

Take your favorite mascara to complete this look, I'm using Bare Minerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara in the shade "Intense Black".

And if you want to add some more glamour to the look, you can definitely apply some natural looking false lashes. I'm using Ardell Natural Lashes in #117.

And we're finished!

So that guys is the finished look! I hope you all enjoyed it! Would you be trying this look for Summer? Let me know what you think of it!
